All-terrain capability

Thanks to simultaneous delivery of tractive power to all of its wheels, the WF trac 6 x 6 is superbly suited to application in rough terrain. Depending upon the equipment mounted, it can be used as a highly maneuverable forwarder that goes easy on ground surfaces, as a harvester for short, cut-to-length timber, with a clamping bench for tree-length timber, or as a variable, multi-purpose machine.

 

VARIABLE

On the 6 x 6 version, the drive unit is combined with a 4-wheel working assembly featuring independent Ackerman steering with bogie axles. The quick-change clamping bench features a gripping surface of 1.2 m2 to 2 m2, the dual drum wench with up to 2 x 10 t of tensile force and a 150 m cable can be mounted on the front or on the center of the forwarder's frame with an integrated height-adjustable cable guide. As an alternative, a traction winch with a 250 meter cable, between 8 and 10 tons of tractive force and vehicle-synchronous drive with continuous tractive force are also available. Also available are a variable, quick-change stanchion rack, a heavy-duty slope support and crane assemblies from the Palfinger M, S and X Classes.

  • The optimized front slope angle combines with the bogie axle to make the WF trac 6 x 6 particularly suitable for use in challenging terrain.
  • Front independent Ackerman steering combines with the steerable bogie axle and the swivel joint to ensure high levels of lateral stability as well as minimal impact on the forest floor.
  • With the variable stanchion rack and forwarder crane, the WF trac 6 x 6 becomes a high-performance forwarder.
  • Approved for highway operation at speeds of up to 40┬ákm/h to allow rapid travel between work locations.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY AND SECURE

The AdBlue technology and SCR catalytic converter represent state-of-the-art engine design and make the WF trac extremely environmentally friendly. The independent Ackerman steering and the bogie axles on the 6 x 6 vehicle ensure maximum tracking stability, meaning that all wheels on an axle travel along a single track for minimal surface impact. Meanwhile, the stringent safety demands placed on all components combine to create the WF trac's comprehensive and complex safety concept. Additional safety is supplied by remote control for the cable winch, remote control of engine management and brakes for vehicle motion control, and the optional SOS function for immediate assistance in an emergency.
